Wyoming Legion Baseball’s regular season is quickly coming to an end. This is Week 15 of the 2024 season. Several conference games over the next 11 days will determine the final seedings at the Single-A West District Tournament or the Single-A East District playoff series. Double-A teams have two-to-three weeks remaining in their regular season. There are conference twin bills at the AA level, but some teams are involved in tournaments in Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, or Utah.

MONDAY, JULY 8:

Final Score: Cody Cubs 10 Rapid City (SD) Post 22 Expos 6 - a 4-run 7th gave the Cubs the win. Jarrett had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Cody. Phillips smacked a 2-run HR.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 12 Rapid City Post 22 Expos 3 - the Cubs scored 9 runs over the last 3 innings to pull away. Jarrett had 2 hits & 1 RBI. Cody took advantage of 9 walks & 4 errors.

TUESDAY, JULY 9:

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 17 Cody Cubs 15 - a 10-run bottom of the 6th helped Sheridan rally past Cody. Barney had 3 hits (all doubles) & 4 RBIs for the Troopers. Green added 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Jarrett & K. Phillips had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each for the Cubs.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 8 Cody Cubs 1 - Troopers score the last 7 runs after being tied 1-1 with Cody in the 3 inn. Hamrick had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Sheridan. Riesen and Lamb both had 1 hit & RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs Stallions 18 Jackson Giants 13 (conference game) - RS led 14-7 through 4 inns. and held on. Peterson, Oliver, & Sagastume drove in 4 runs apiece. Menke had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Jackson.

Final Score: Jackson Giants 10 Rock Springs Stallions 4 (conference game) - a 6-run 7th inning propelled the Giants to the victory. Morales homered and Bizer had 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Rawlins Bandits 11 Saratoga Cutthroats 0 (conference game) - Maestas tossed a 2-hit shut out with 13 Ks. An 8-run 3rd inning keyed the Bandits. Fletcher & Hernandez had 3 hits & 2 RBI apiece.

Final Score: Rawlins Bandits 11 Saratoga Cutthroats 9 (conference game) - the Bandits had an 11-1 lead and held off a comeback attempt by the Cutthroats. Maestas & Weisenburg had 2 hits & 1 RBI each.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 11 Westco Zephyrs (Scottsbluff, NE) 3 - Cheyenne scored 7 runs in the 8th and 9th inns to secure the win. Kamarad had 4 hits & 3 RBIs for the Sixers. Garrett added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie Rangers AA 12 Mountain View Mountain Lions (Loveland, CO) 2 - Rangers explode for 9 runs in the 5th inn to win. J. Moniz had 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 10:

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 2 Westco Express (Scottsbluff, NE) 2 - the game ended after 5 innings.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 11 Gillette Rustlers 9 (conference game) - down 7-0, Sheridan scored 11 runs over 3 innings and held off the Rustlers. Destefano & Leach had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each for the Jets. Smith had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Gillette.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 12 Gillette Rustlers 11 (conference game) - the Jets blew a 6-1 lead. The Rustlers scored 8 runs in the 5th inning. Gillette had an 11-6 lead before Sheridan scored 3 in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th. Matthews had the game-winning, walk-off RBI 2B in the 7th for the victory. Lamb led the Jets with 3 hits, 2 RBIs, & 4 runs scored. Gillette got 2 doubles & 3 RBIs from Hecker.

Final Score: Evanston Outlaws 9 Green River Knights 8 (conference game) - In a wild finish, GR battled back from a 6-0 deficit and took the lead with 3 runs in the top of the 7th. Evanston won it on a walk-off, 2-run single by Osborne in the bottom of the 7th. The Outlaws overcame 11 errors. Oliver had 2 hits & 4 RBIs for Evanston.

Final Score: Green River Knights 13 Evanston Outlaws 3 (conference game) - the Knights took control with 11 runs in the 3rd inning. Busch had 2 hits & 3 RBIs, and Welch added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. GR also took advantage of 8 walks.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 15 Wheatland Lobos 4 (conference game) - the Tigers took the lead with 6 runs in the 1st inning. They added 9 more over the next 3 innings. Moorehouse had 2 hits & 4 RBIs for Torrington.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 16 Wheatland Lobos 6 (conference game) - Torrington scored 6 runs in the 1st for the 2nd straight game, as they built a 10-2 lead. Hager had 3 hits (2B, 3B) & 4 RBIs. Desmond added 2 doubles & drove in 4 runs.

Final Score: West Fargo (ND) Patriots 15 Gillette Riders 3 - the Patriots scored 12 times in the first two innings.

Pathways Utah Triple Crown Tournament

Final Score: Tooele (UT) 18U/16U 7 Jackson Giants 4 (8 inns.) - Tooele scored 4 runs in the top of the 8th to break a 3-3 tie. Olnhausen had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Jackson.

THURSDAY, JULY 11:

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 6 Buffalo Bulls 4 - on a quick turnaround, the Jets scored 3 runs in the 3rd to take the lead for good. Baures had 2 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 16 Buffalo Bulls 9 - the Jets used an 8-run 2nd to surge in front, then had a pair of 3-run innings. Matthews had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 14 Cheyenne Hawks 2 (conference game) - an 8-run 3rd put the game away for Sheridan. C. Hamrick, Phillips, & Barney had 2 hits & 3 RBIs each.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 3 Sheridan Troopers 0 (conference game) - McDonogh & Robbins combined on a 6-hit shutout with 9 Ks. Ruskanen had a 2-run single when the Hawks scored 3 runs.

Final Score: Lockwood (MT) Razorbacks 15 Rawlins Bandits 8 - a 10-run 4th inning pushed Lockwood to the win.

Final Score: Lockwood (MT) Razorbacks 18 Rawlins Bandits 3 - the Bandits led 3-0, but the Razorbacks scored 9 in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead for good. Chizek had 1 hit & 2 RBIs for Rawlins.

Final Score: Laramie Rangers A 8 Wheatland Lobos 3 (conference game) - Laramie held a 6-0 lead through the top of the 4th. Trace Looney led the Rangers A with 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Bailey added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Wheatland Lobos 9 Laramie Rangers A 5 (conference game) - a 7-run 2nd inning pushed the Lobos in front. L. Raser had 2 hits & 1 RBI. Schaffner added 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 14 Lovell Mustangs 6 (conference game) - Powell jumped out 5-0 and never trailed. Stenerson hit 2 HRs and had 7 RBIs.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 14 Lovell Mustangs 7 (conference game) - the Pioneers get the home sweep. An 8-run 4th inning gave Powell the lead. Greenwald drove in 5 runs with 1 hit & 3 walks. Powell took advantage of 11 walks. Welch added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Bozeman (MT) Bucks AA 8 Casper Oilers 5 - a 4-run 6th pushed the Bucks past Casper. Hauck had 2 hits & 1 RBI for the Oilers.

Gabe Pando Memorial Baseball Tournament in Fort Collins, CO

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 7 Mountain View Mountain Lions (Loveland, CO) 0 - Thomson & Koerwitz combined on a 4-hit shutout. Thomson had 11 Ks. Westby had 3 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Colorado Rogue 18U 8 Laramie Rangers AA 2 - a 5-run 5th was the difference for Rogue. Malone had 2 hits & 1 RBI for Laramie.

Final Score: Salt Lake (UT) Gulls BBC Navy 12 Jackson Giants 2 - the Gulls scored 6 in the 1st and 3 in the 2nd.

FRIDAY, JULY 12:

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 10 Riverton Raiders 5 (conference game) - a 9-run 3rd inning pushed Lovell to the victory. Newman had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Wassmer had 3 hits & 1 RBI. Martin had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Riverton.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 9 Riverton Raiders 2 (conference game) - with a 5-2 lead, the Mustangs scored 4 runs in the 6th to seal it. Files had 3 hits & 1 RBI. Wassmer added 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Wheatland Lobos 15 Buffalo Bulls 5 (conference game) - the Lobos scored 4 runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd innings to take control. L. Raser had 3 hits (3B) and 4 RBIs. Lind added 3 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Wheatland Lobos 7 Buffalo Bulls 6 (conference game) - the Lobos rallied from a 6-0 deficit after the top of the 4th. They pulled ahead with 4 runs in the 6th. Meyer & Bohlander had 2 hits & 1 RBI apiece for Wheatland. Lambert had 2 hits & 3 RBIs in the loss for the Bulls.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 9 Douglas Cats 7 (conference game) - a 5-run 9th keyed the Torrington victory. An error led to the go-ahead run for Torrington. Hibben had 3 hits & 3 RBIs for the Tigers. Kejr had 3 hits & 3 RBIs for Douglas.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 16 Douglas Cats 3 (conference game) - the Tigers scored in all but 1 of the 6 innings. That included 4 in the 1st and 6 in the 6th. B. Hager had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Shields added 2 hits & 2 RBIS for The Tigers.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 11 Nampa (ID) Chiefs 1 - Down 1-0, the Oilers scored 11 runs over their last 3 at-bats. Nicholls had 3 hits & 2 RBIs, Christensen added 2 hits & 3 RBIs, and Pexton also had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Gabe Pando Memorial Baseball Tournament in Fort Collins, CO

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 4 Collins Collab 17U 1 - Down 1-0, the Sixers scored 3 in the 5th and 1 run in the  6th. Swaen had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. George got the win on the mound.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 11 Greeley GOJO’s 8 - with the game tied 5-5, the Sixers scored the next 6 runs and held off the GOJO's. McAnelly had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Cheyenne.

Final Score: One6 (Arvada, CO) 11 Laramie Rangers AA 3 - Laramie blew a 3-1 lead. They scored their runs on 2 errors by One6.

Final Score: Laramie Rangers AA 8 Loveland Cougs 0 - Chavez tossed a 2-hit shutout with 10 Ks. Herrera had 3 hits (2B) & 1 RBI, while J. Moniz added 2 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: New Prague (MN) Post 45 18U 2 Gillette Riders 1 - a run in the top of the 7th was the difference.

Pathways Utah Triple Crown Tournament

Final Score: USA Prime Duke City 17U (Albuquerque, NM) 12 Jackson Giants 2 - and 8-run 4th for Duke City was the difference. Witt had 2 hits & 1 RBI for Jackson.

SATURDAY, JULY 13:

Final Score: Cody Cubs 3 Powell Pioneers 2 (conference game) - neither team scored until the 7th inning. Powell took a 2-0 lead. The Cubs answered with 3 in the bottom of the 7th. The tying and winning runs were scored on wild pitches.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers 11 Cody Cubs 6 (conference game) - the Pioneers jumped out to a 5-0 lead. After Cody trimmed it to a 5-3 lead, Powell added 4 runs in the 5th for a 10-6 lead. Stenerson had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Worstell added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Evanston Outlaws 23 Saratoga Cutthroats 4 (conference game) - the Outlaws clinched the SW title with the victory. Evanston led 6-0 and scored 13 runs in the 3rd. They had 16 hits & 11 walks. Bauer led the way with 3 hits & 6 RBIs thanks to 2 doubles & 1 HR. Osborne also homered.

Final Score: Evanston Outlaws 25 Saratoga Cutthroats 1 (conference game) - the Outlaws scored 14 runs in the 1st inning. Wilson had 4 hits & 5 RBIs. Natoli added 4 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 20 Riverton B 13 - Down 6-0, Torrington scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 16 more in the 4th. The Tigers also trailed 13-4. Moorehouse had 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs. Kramer added a 2-run HR.

Final Score: Los Bandidos (CO) 17U 11 Cheyenne Eagles 10 (9-inn. game) - the Eagles scored 3 in the top of the 9th but fell short. Tafoya had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Cheyenne.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 6 Idaho Falls (ID) Knights 1 - Casper jumped out 4-0 through 3 innings. The Oilers capitalized on 6 walks & 3 errors. Stokes allowed 1 run on 7 hits.

Final Score: Collins Collab 18U 10 Laramie Rangers AA 2 - Laramie lost for the 5th time vs. Collins this season. A 7-run 4th inning was the difference.

Final Score: Regis (CO) 8 Cheyenne Sixers 3 - Regis scored 8 runs over 4 innings. Pearson had a triple & 1 RBI. Coates added 2 RBIs.

Gopher Classic Tournament 2024 in Minnesota

Final Score: Prior Lake, MN 9 Gillette Riders 1 - a 7-run 2nd propelled Prior Lake to the win.

Final Score: Renner (SD) Royals 9 Gillette Riders 3 - the Royals used a 3-run 5th to seize control. Petersen homered in the loss for Gillette.

Final Score: Jackson Giants 5 Utah Prospects 2025 3 - down 1-0, the Giants scored 3 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th. Olnhausen had 1 hit & 2 RBIs. Witt added 2 hits. Morales went the distance on the mound. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits.

Final Score: Jackson Giants 11 SU Stix 18U (Utah) 5 - a 6-run 2nd put the Giants in front for good. Olnhausen had 1 hit & 4 RBIs and walked twice.

SUNDAY, JULY 14:

Final Score: Bozeman (MT) Bucks A 7 Cody Cubs 2 - a 4-run 5th put Bozeman in control. D. Phillips had a double & 1 HR for Cody.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 12 Bozeman Bucks A 3 - the Cubs scored 3 in the 1st and increased their lead throughout. Bailey had 3 hits & 1 RBI, while Jarrett and Schroeder added 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 11 Laramie Rangers A 1 (conference game) - Tafoya IV & Broda allowed just 1 run on 4 hits with 8 Ks combined. Cheyenne scored 5 runs in the 1st to take control. Moore had 1 hit & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 9 Laramie Rangers A 3 (conference game) - the Eagles built a 5-1 lead and never trailed after the 2nd inning. Moore had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Tafoya IV had a double, triple, RBI, & 1 run scored.

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 8 Buffalo Bulls 7 (8 inns.) (conference game) - Craig had the go-ahead RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the 8th inning for the Rustlers. He drove in 3 runs. Wood added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Buffalo Bulls 5 Gillette Rustlers 3 (conference game) - the Bulls scored 2 in the 1st and 3rd, had a 5-0 lead, and held off Gillette. Camino had 3 hits including a triple and home run and 1 RBI for Buffalo.

Final Score: Douglas Cats 10 Sheridan Jets 0 (conference game) - a 7-run 2nd pu the Cats in front. Johnson tossed a 1-hitter with 8 Ks. Kejr hit a grand slam. Robertson had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Douglas Cats 19 Sheridan Jets 2 (conference game) - Douglas scored 7 runs in the 1st and 9 in the 2nd. Boyson homered and drove in 3 runs. Lenzen had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Lehnen added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Rocky Mountain Lobos 13 Laramie Rangers AA 7 - the Rangers blew an early 7-0 lead. RM scored 10 runs in the 2nd.

Gopher Classic Tournament 2024 in Minnesota

Final Score: Gillette Riders 8 Omaha (NE) Westview Primetime 1 - 6 runs in the 6th helped the Riders win. Partlow had a double & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Moorhead (MN) Blues 10 Gillette Riders 9 (8 inns.) - the Blues scored 2 in the 7th to tie it and 1 in the 8th for the win.
