
Kemmerer’s Natasha Martinez Picks Basketball for College
Kemmerer senior Natasha Martinez has signed to play basketball at Rocky Mountain College this fall. The four-year, three-sport athlete has played volleyball, basketball, and run track at KHS. She has earned all-conference honors in basketball and volleyball and all-state awards in outdoor track.
Martinez helped the Rangers to a 7-17 record in the 2024-25 season. She averaged five points, 2.8 rebounds, one assist, and two steals per game. In her junior season, Martinez aided Kemmerer to the 2A basketball state tournament. They went 11-15 in the 2023-24 season and lost in the 2A consolation trophy game. Natasha averaged 5.3 points, four rebounds, and two steals per game.
In volleyball last fall, Martinez led Kemmerer to a 12-24 record her senior season. She had 140 kills, 45 service aces, 245 digs, and nine total blocks. The Rangers tied for the 2A Southwest Conference regular season title and earned the No. 1 seed at the 2A West Regional Tournament.
Martinez was on Kemmerer’s state championship outdoor track and field team last spring (2024). She ran on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. Natasha finished second in the 2A 200-meter dash and the long jump.

She plans to study sports medicine and received both academic and athletic money at RMC. Martinez also joins her older brother, AQ Peternal, who plays football at the school.
Rocky Mountain College is in Billings, MT. The Battlin’ Bears are members of the Frontier Conference and compete at the NAIA level of collegiate athletics.
