One of the finest female wrestlers in the state is Becca Oetken from Sheridan. She will be looking for her 3rd state championship in 2025 and has signed on with North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

Just last week, Oetken placed first in the big Rapid City Tournament at 235 pounds, going 4-0 with 4 pins en route to the top of the podium. In her junior season. Oetken captured the state championship at 190 pounds with a fall over Gracin Goff of Cheyenne East and  finished the season 31-0.

In her sophomore season, she won her first state title of her career, prevailing in the 235-pound bracket with a fall over Katy Dexter of Pinedale in the state championship match. Oetken was 25-4 in his sophomore year.

North Central College is a Division III institution that competes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
