Big Piney Stops Rocky Mountain in 1A 9-Man Football
Big Piney is coming off a championship season in 1A 9-Man football beating Wind River for all the marbles back in November in Laramie. The Punchers are currently 2-1 on the year after a hard-fought 17-6 win over Rocky Mountain last week in Big Piney.
Rocky Mountain scored first in the 2nd quarter with a touchdown to give the Grizzlies a 6-0 lead but that would be the last points they would put on the board in this game. Big Piney answered with a Caden Clifford touchdown run and rang up 186 yards rushing on 30 carries for the Punchers. Zavier Clifford followed that with a 60-yard for a TD and he finished with 156 yards rushing on 14 carries. The Punchers added a 4th quarter field goal and Big Piney's defense did the rest.
The Punchers will take their act on the road to Greybull on Saturday afternoon while Rocky Mountain will be looking for their first win of the year, hosting Wyoming Indian. the Grizz have lost 3 close games so far this season, by 10 points to Lusk, 4 to Greybull, and 11 to BP.
