He is considered a part of their future...and in the near future, he'll play on the their field, and in the far future, he hopes to play on their field more often with the big boys.

Cheyenne East grad and former Cheyenne Post 6 standout Brandon Nimmo recently won the All-Star Sunday Future Finalist Ballot, and will play on U.S. team in the All-Star Futures game, on Sunday, July 14th.

Nimmo currently plays center field for the Savannah, Georgia Sand Gnats, which is the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

It just so happens, the Mets are hosting the MLB All-Star Game as well.

Nimmo was the 13th overall pick in 2011, and is currently batting .277 with 1 HR in 52 games and recently played in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.

The MLB All-Stars Futures Game, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14th at 2pm Eastern Time (Noon Mountain Time), and can be seen on MLB.com, ESPN2, ESPN2 HD, and on MLB.com GameDay.
