Team USA Beats Canada in 6-Man Football All-Star Game
The 27th annual Can-Am Bowl, featuring All-Star 6-Man football players, was held in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Tuesday night, with Team USA posting a 70-52 win. The US team had a couple of players from Wyoming on their roster, Joe Bassett of Burling and Bridger Cozzens from Little Snake River in Baggs.
Cozzens had a tremendous game and certainly was one of the best athletes on the field. In the 2nd quarter, he reeled off a 44-yard run for a touchdown to tie the game at 16. Later in the 2nd quarter, Cozzins caught a touchdown pass from Luke Kelley as the US trailed at that point 24-22.
Cozzens continued to get open as a wide receiver in the game with a pair of TD catches in the 3rd quarter as the US opened a 14-point lead. The Americans pulled away in the third quarter of play, and Luke Kelley from Centerville, Montana had 4 rushing touchdowns, and all three of his touchdown passes went to Bridger Cozzens.
Team USA has now won the last 4 straight in the series and 13 of the last 14 meetings.
