Casper Oilers Legion Baseball Update 2021 [VIDEO]
The Casper Oilers are enjoying a good season during the 2021 year of American Legion Baseball in Wyoming.
Casper won the title two years ago (2019), which was their first since 1996. After an up-and-down regular season, the Oilers made noise at the 2020 ‘AA’ Wyoming American Legion Baseball state tournament last August in Rock Springs. They advanced to Day 4 of the tournament and finished with a 2-2 mark.
With a few players returning from that squad, combined with several players coming up from the 2020 Single-A runner-up Casper Crush, the Oilers have played well in 2021.
Casper is 35-17-1 this season with a few weeks remaining in the regular season.
WyoPreps caught up with Oiler players Braden Barr and Morgan Pickett, in the video above, at the Cheyenne Firecracker Invitational tournament last weekend. Barr touched on moving up a level of play in Wyoming this year while Pickett talked about returning to his hometown team. Then, the two discussed how the team is playing, areas they need to improve on, and what the state tournament might be like at the end of the month.
The 2021 ‘AA’ Wyoming American Legion Baseball State Championships will be in Laramie, July 26-30.
