Cody has been a powerhouse in 3A football for quite some time now with 4 straight double-digit win seasons. They won 2 state championships in that time period and finished 2nd in 2023 and 2022. The Bronc's made it 2 for 2 this season as they cruised by Douglas on Friday night 49-0.

Cody jumped all over Douglas in the first quarter with three touchdowns. The first one was a 19-yard pass from quarterback Maddax Ball to Chase Hatch to make it 7-0. Hatch also plays in the Bronc secondary and is receiving plenty of interest from Division I college programs. Ball also tossed a 5-yard TD pass to Owen Peterson and that was followed by an 80-yard scoring reception from Trey Smith. That play was a simple swing pass with Smith out-running everybody to the end zone.

Grady McCarten added 2 rushing touchdowns from 4 and 30 yards out in the 2nd quarter, Peterson had a 14-yard run for a TD in the 3rd quarter and backup QC Cache McFadden reeled off a 45-yard run for 6.

Cody is 2-0 and will take on Buffalo at home on Friday. Douglas is 1-1 on the young season and will be at home on Friday to face Powell. Take a look at our big gallery of photos from Friday's game in Converse County in our gallery below. Enjoy!
