Cody Conquers Powell in 3A Park County Rivalry Game
Cody has looked super-impressive this season in 3A football as they have steamrolled all four of their opponents. The Broncs handed it to Powell on Friday 55-14, ringing up over 450 yards of offense.
The scoring bonanza for Cody started in the 1st quarter on a 48-yard run for a touchdown from Grady McCarten which was followed by a 1-yard plunge into the end zone from Owen Peterson and it was 14-0 after one.
The Cody defense was making plays with a fumble recovery at the Powell 9-yard line and returned for a touchdown by Cache McFadden. Alex Jordan kept the Panthers in the game briefly with a 42-yard TD reception but after that, Cody took over and never looked back. Quarterback Maddax Ball threw 3 touchdown passes in the 2nd quarter alone; 10 yards to Chase Hatch, 40 yards to McCarten, and 34 to Trey Smith.
Smith had quite a game for the Broncs with a 34-yard run to the house in the 4th quarter and a kick-off return for a score that covered 83 yards. Cody will host Evanston this week and Powell is 3-2 on the year with a big challenge this week as they'll host powerful Star Valley.
