The Evanston boys basketball team has been remarkably consistent for close to two decades. That includes state championships in 2012 and 2013. This past season, there were some ups and downs on their way to a 15-13 season but it did result in yet another appearance. The Red Devils did have their hands full in the quarterfinal round as they lost to Sheridan 67-42. Seth Lloyd delivered 12 for Evanston and Garrett Berger had 9. This group stayed alive in the tournament thanks to a 58-44 win over Green River in the consolation round. Brady Hurd had 20 points on 8-11 from the free-throw line and Lance Evans was solid with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Evanston did take 5th place as they survived Cheyenne Central 49-48, despite being outscored in every quarter except one. Seth Lloyd rang up 16 and Garrett Berger had 13.  Lloyd, as it turns out, was the only Red Devil player to average in double figures and he had 10 per game. This team will have to replace 5 productive seniors so the complexion surely will change for next year.
