Photofest: Evanston Gets Grueling Win over Jackson in 3A Football

The last 2 football playoff spots in the 3A West will come down to three teams. Star Valley and Cody should be 1-2 with Powell, Evanston, and Jackson vying for seeds 3 and 4. Evanston helped themselves greatly in this record with a 20-7 home win over Jackson to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play while Jackson is 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Evanston has the leading rusher in 3A in Brayden Wallace who already this season has rung up a 171-yard game vs. Green River, 160 vs. Ben Lomond, UT, and 158 vs. Lander. The Red Devils have a great combo on defense with Caden Marler and Brooks Searle, averaging 12 tackles between the two of them. Evanston shook off a big loss to Cody the week prior and has won 2 of 3.

Jackson has been paced at quarterback by Grant Johnson who had 10 TD passes entering the Evanston game and has been averaging 196 yards through the air per game. Receiver Tyson Kendall has been his main target but in two of the Broncs losses this season, they have managed just 7 points in each contest.
