Mountain View High School senior Hank Allred has signed up to play baseball at Porterville College in California.

Allred plays American Legion Baseball with the Evanston Outlaws. He earned second-team all-state honors at the Double-A level in the 2022 season. He’s been a member of the program since the age of 12.

In 2018, as a 13-year-old, Allred helped the Evanston B team to a runner-up finish at the Wyoming American Legion Baseball ‘B’ State Tournament in Sheridan.

Over the past two seasons, he has been the main catcher for Evanston. He led the Outlaws in runners thrown out behind the plate, put-outs, and home runs. He was a key contributor to the Evanston team that had a record-setting third-place finish at the AA State Tournament in Laramie in 2021.

Hank was the team leader in nearly every statistical category last summer.

Allred has also played with the Southwest Wyoming Sandlot in fall ball, and last summer, played with the Logan (UT) Royals Collegiate team after the state tournament.

He was recruited as a catcher and utility player but may also pitch for the Porterville Pirates.

Porterville College is at the JUCO level of collegiate baseball and competes in the highly competitive California Central Valley Conference.

Allred is the first baseball player from Wyoming to play at Porterville College.
