Evanston’s Stacia Barker is Heading to Montana State for Volleyball
Evanston senior Stacia Barker has signed to play volleyball with the Montana State Bobcats.
Barker is a three-sport standout for the Red Devils with multiple letters earned in volleyball, basketball, and track and field.
Barker is a two-time all-conference selection in the 4A West Conference for volleyball. She was an all-state selection after her junior season in 2020.
The senior led the Red Devils to a 27-10 record and second-place finish in the 4A Southwest Conference. In 2020, Barker helped Evanston to a 16-11-1 overall record, a 6-0 mark and first-place finish in the 4A Southwest Conference, and a berth in the 4A state volleyball tournament, where the Red Devils went 1-2.
Stacia is the reigning Class 4A high jump state champion. She set a school record after she cleared the bar at 5-7.25 last May in Casper. That’s just one inch off the overall state record of 5-8.25. Barker also received all-state in the 100-meter hurdles with a second-place finish.
During her junior year in basketball, Barker was a second-team all-state and first-team all-conference pick. She averaged a team-best 10.2 points and seven rebounds per game. Stacia shot 50 percent from the field and added 1.4 blocked shots per game. Evanston finished the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 2-16 and went 1-5 in conference quadrant action.
The 6-2 middle blocker was one of six signees with the Montana Bobcats volleyball program.
