Rock Springs track athlete Favour Wonjoku was an early signee in the college recruiting process and has elected to attend the University of Nebraska for track & field. She is one of a handful of athletes that is going to a Division 1 school and Wonjoku certainly has the credentials. In her career in outdoor track, she won the 4A state championship in 2019 in the long jump with a leap of 17.10.75 and also won the gold medal in the triple jump going 37 feet even.

In the  2018 outdoor state championships, Wonjoku was the state champ in the triple jump going 37 feet 8 inches and placed 2nd in the long jump with an effort of 17.5.75. Her indoor career has resulted with more state championships as Wonjoku took the podium in the long jump at 17.10.75 in 2020. She also took 2nd in the triple jump and 3rd in the 55 meter dash. Her Rock Springs team also placed 2nd in the 4x200 relay.

In the 2019 indoor state championships, Wonjoku earned gold in the triple jump with a leap of 36.6.5 and placed 2nd in the long jump. She also earned a state title in the triple jump at the 2018 indoor championships with an effort of 35.8.25.

Wonjoku plans on majoring in occupational therapy.
