Nebraska's Gage Mintken had 2 TD runs and an interception, while Dane Pilakowski added a TD run and a TD catch to lead the way. Mintken scored the opening touchdown from two yards on the game's first drive, and Nebraska never trailed. It was 8-0 at the end of the first quarter. They scored on the first play of the second quarter for a 14-0 lead. Mintken's interception led to another Nebraska TD and a 22-0 lead.

Wyoming finally got on the board with a Jordan Michaels to Kaben Pickett 16-yard TD pass with 4:10 left in the first half. That made it 22-8. Pickett had a big kickoff return that set up the Cowboy State deep in Nebraska territory. The Cornhusker State boys answered with a TD run for a 28-8 lead. That was the score at halftime.

Wyoming Got Closer Early in the Second Half But It Wasn't Enough

Wyo. got the ball at the start of the second half and pulled within 28-14 on a Michaels to Ryon Miller 6-yard TD pass. That was as close as Wyoming got. Nebraska drove inside the 5-yard line, but Jaden Thomas forced a fumble that Joe Pina recovered. It was 28-14 at the end of the third quarter.

A penalty negated a big catch and run from Wyatt Trembly, which would have put the Cowboy State inside the Nebraska 10-yard line. The Cornhusker State forced a punt and Mintken's 3rd TD made it 36-14 with 4:08 left. After Wyoming turned the ball over on downs, Pilakowski capped it with a 51-yard TD run with 2:22 left. That was the final score of 42-14.
