Changes For the 2024 Wyoming High School Football Season
The 2024 high school football season is just over two weeks away. There are plenty of differences that need to be highlighted. Between coaching changes and the new reclassification structure by the Wyoming High School Activities Association leading to schools in different classes, WyoPreps has a football-only breakdown ahead of the new season.
WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CHANGES IN 2024
Four schools have switched classes after the new structure for classification breakdown was approved by the WHSAA based on enrollment. Defending 2A state champion Torrington moves up to Class 3A this year and is in the 3A East Conference. Worland drops down to Class 2A after being in 3A (or 4A when 5A was the top class from 2001-2008) since 1983. The Warriors will be in the 2A West Conference. Moorcroft is back in 11-man football, as the Wolves are in Class 2A this season. They will be in the 2A East Conference. Lastly, Riverside drops from Class 1A 9-man to Class 1A 6-man. The Rebels will play in the 6-man North Conference.

Overall, for the 2024 season, there are 10 teams still in 4A. Class 3A is 12 teams. Class 2A has 16 teams. There are 13 teams in Class 1A 9-man, and 13 in Class 1A 6-man. St. Stephens will not have football this year.
