Here Are The Ten New Head Coaches In The 2025 Wyoming High School Football Season

Wyoming High School football practice is drawing closer. For Class 4A teams, it begins on Monday, August 11. For the rest of the state, practice opens on Monday, August 18. That means 3A, 2A, 1A 9-Man, and 1A 6-Man divisions wait one more week. This marks the 17th consecutive season of this format for teams on the gridiron in the Cowboy State.

The start of the new season also brings new faces to the sidelines. Ten new head coaches will join the ranks as the leaders of their respective programs. Coaching changes are normal in the off-season, and the reasons why can vary. Class 2A and 1A 9-Man features the most turnover with three new coaches. Class 1A 6-Man has two new head coaches, and Class 4A and Class 3A have one apiece.

Here are the ten new head coaches at schools around the state.

1A 6-Man:

Kaycee Buckaroos – Jordan Largent, replaces Dave Largent

Riverside Rebels – Matt Jensen, replaces Jason Mitchell

1A 9-Man:

Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings – Troy Reichert, replaces Neil Hughes

Wright Panthers – Wade Messner, replaces Larry Yeradi

Wyoming Indian Chiefs – James Cole, replaces Nate Reinhardt

2A:

Glenrock Herders – Heath Hayes, replaces Zane Perez

Moorcroft Wolves – Benjamin Glenn, replaces Cameron Braden

Wheatland Bulldogs – Peter Fenster, replaces Tony Borton

3A:

Rawlins Outlaws – Cody Hooker, replaces David Hastings

4A:

South Bison – Steven Fernandez, replaces Eli Moody

When Does the New Season Begin

The 2025 high school football season starts the weekend of August 28-30, 2025. Class 4A features a full five-game schedule. Teams in the other four classes do not have to play an official game but can choose to play one. Otherwise, the 2025 season will start the weekend of Sept. 4-6, 2025.

Guernsey-Sunrise is not playing at the 1A 9-Man level in 2025. They will be playing a 6-man schedule but are ineligible for the playoffs.
