Cody’s Jarom Beardall Commits to VCSU for Football and Track

Cody graduate Jarom Beardall is furthering his athletic career in two sports at the next level. He recently signed with Valley City State University for football and track and field. Beardall was an all-state defensive back for the Broncs last fall. He won the Class 3A state title in the long jump at the 2025 Wyoming High School Indoor Track State Championships back in March. Jarom participated in four events at the Wyoming High School Outdoor Track State Championships about two weeks ago.

Beardall helped Cody to a 9-2 overall record and a runner-up finish in Class 3A on the gridiron. He earned all-state after a school-record seven interceptions in the 2024 season. Beardall also made 22 tackles, had ten pass breakups, and blocked one kick. He even scored a defensive TD last fall. On offense, he made seven catches for 86 yards and one touchdown. In 2023, the junior had 37 tackles and two interceptions. Beardall made one solo tackle as a sophomore in 2022.

In indoor track, Beardall won the 3A long jump with a class record leap of 21-10.25 to win the title. He also ran on Cody’s 3A state champion 4x400-meter relay team. Jarom was the 3A runner-up in the high jump. He also participated in the 55-meter dash. His efforts helped Cody win the 3A team crown.

During the outdoor track season, Beardall competed in four events at the state track meet. He placed third in the 3A long jump at 22-03. He took fifth in the high jump, ran the 100 meters, and ran a leg on the Cody 4x100 relay. The Broncs took second in the team standings.

Valley City State University is in Valley City, ND. The Vikings compete at the NAIA level of collegiate athletics. They are moving to the Frontier Conference this fall. Beardall will play cornerback in football and compete in the long jump in track and field at VCSU.
