About a month after verbally committing, Gillette Roughriders baseball player Jason Fink has signed with Augustana University in South Dakota.

Fink is in his third season with the Roughriders and sixth year in the Gillette Post 42 baseball program.

In 2020, Fink was a second-team all-state player for the Riders. He went 9-1 on the pitching mound with a 2.19 earned run average.

As a full-time player in 2021, Fink was 4-7 as a pitcher with a team-best three saves. He had 99 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched. At the plate, Fink hit .288 for the season with 11 doubles and 99 RBI’s.

Fink also plays basketball at Campbell County High School in Gillette. Last season he helped the Camels to an overall record of 11-7. They went 4-2 in conference quadrant games. As a junior, Fink averaged 10.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Augustana University is in Sioux Falls, SD. They compete at the Division II level. The Vikings are coached by Tim Huber. There were national champions in 2018 and have posted 11 straight seasons of 30 wins or more.
