
Wagner and Horsley Rep Wyoming at High School Golf National Invitational in North Carolina
The 2025 PGA High School Golf National Invitational is underway at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina. Two young ladies from Wyoming are competing as individuals in this year’s invite-only field. First is Jordyn Horsley, the 2024 Class 4A state champ and recent graduate from Star Valley High School. The second is Tazlyn Wagner, the Class 2A state champ, who finished her freshman year at Kemmerer High School in late May.
UPDATE:
Wagner fired a final round of 1-over par and finished in 31st place out of 202 golfers in the field. She concluded the tournament at 8-over par and moved up three spots in the last 18 holes. Horsley shot an 83 in the last round. She finished in a tie for 131st place at 41-over par.

The girls’ portion of the event began on Monday, July 14, and continues through Wednesday, July 16. The field of golfers is playing 54 holes on Pinehurst’s No. 1, No. 6, and No. 7 courses.
Wagner opened with a 3-over-par score of 75 on Monday and was tied for 25th place. She followed that with a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday. That has her in 34th place at 7-over-par or 151 through two rounds. The leaders are at 7-under-par or 135.
Horsley struggled a little more and shot a 14-over-par score of 86. She was tied for 123rd place after the first day. She shot 14-over-par in the second round and is 28-over-par, or 172, and tied for 131st place through two rounds.

The final round is on Wednesday. The field has 202 golfers playing at Pinehurst Resort. Five players have either withdrawn or did not start the event.
The boys’ event will be from July 20-22, 2025, at Pinehurst. Eleven players from Wyoming will be participating.
