Kale Knezovich from Green River started his prep wrestling career with a bang back in 2021 as he won the 3A 106-pound state championship beating Kazen Siler of Lyman 6-4. He lost just a single match in his freshman year with 31 victories.

As an encore, Knezovich won a 3A title in 2022 at 120 pounds with a win over Peyton Andrews of Star Valley 12-3. He posted a record of 31-8 in his sophomore season. This year as a junior, Knezovich came back for more with an 8-5 victory over Hunter Velarde to capture the 3A 138-pound championship. He went 34-10 and his efforts helped the Wolves win their first state title since 2017 when they competed in 4A.

He has one more year to go and if he can find the top of the podium again, he will join  very elite company as a 4-time prep champ in Wyoming. We caught up with him after his title match on Saturday and it was a workman-like performance.
