Three-time state champion Tommy Dalton from Green River will be wrestling in college.

The senior has signed with JUCO National Champion Western Wyoming College in Rock Springs.

Dalton capped his career with a state title at 145 pounds. He finished his final prep season with a record of 42-4. He won his championship match with an 8-3 decision. That came after two wins by fall and a tech fall at the 3A state wrestling tournament in Casper. Dalton helped Green River win the 2023 Class 3A team state championship. It was the Wolves’ first title since a 4A crown in 2017.

As a junior, he won the 3A crown at 132 pounds and was 45-5. He pinned all four of his opponents at the 2022 state wrestling championships. Dalton was third at 120 pounds during his sophomore season in 2021 and 37-5.

He won his first state championship in 2020 while Green River was in Class 4A. Dalton captured the 106-pound title and finished with a record of 37-5.

The Wolves placed second as a team in 4A in 2020. Dalton was part of a fourth-place 3A team in 2021 and a third-place 3A team in 2022.

The WWCC Mustangs won the school’s first national championship in wrestling back in March. The program has produced six individual national champions in its history. They had eight wrestlers place in the top six and earn All-American honors at the 2023 national championships.
