Trio of Kelly Walsh Runners to Continue Careers at the Next Level

Three Kelly Walsh distance runners will be taking their skills to the collegiate level as Garrett Peterson and Cade Webster will go to Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangley. In contrast, Micah Colling will go to Stockton University, a Division III institution in Galloway, New Jersey.

At the 2024 4A State Cross Country meet in Cheyenne, Peterson placed 7th in 16.48.01. That's a substantial improvement from his junior year, where he took 38th place. Peterson also has been running indoor track and placed 8th in the 800 and 11th in the 1600 at the big Basin-Nation Meet in Gillette. He was 16th in the 1600 and 9th in the 3200 at the 2024 State Indoor Track Meet.

Micah Colling had a State Indoor Track Meet to remember as won the 4A State Championship in the 1600 going 4.30.57 with a 4th place finish in the 3200. At last week's Basin Nation Indoor Meet, Colling was 3rd in the 800 with a clocking on 4.31.65

At the 2024 4A State Cross Country Meet in Cheyenne, Colling ran 17.32.11 to take 10th place and was 9th at the 2023 State Meet in 16.36.69. He placed 14th at the State Championships as a sophomore.

Cade Webster just last week had an 8th place finish in the 800 at the Basin Nation Meet and was 31st at the 4A State Cross Country Meet in 18.01.17. Kelly Walsh finished 2nd in the team standings so they had a strong group. Webster was 29th in his junior year at State Cross Country and 44th as a sophomore.
