Jackson swept the 2024 Wyoming High School Alpine Skiing State Championships at home last weekend for the 13th straight year. The championships were shortened to one day because of snow in Jackson, which made conditions unsafe for slalom racing on the second day (Saturday). Jackson’s Dylan Witherite and Liam Logan were the individual state champions in the Giant Slalom race on Friday. The Broncs finished first through fifth place in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions.


Girls Results

At Snow King Mountain Resort, Dylan Witherite won the girls’ GS with a two-run combined time of 1:41.62. She was nearly 4.5 seconds ahead of her teammate and runner-up, Callie Owens, who finished at 1:46.03. Annie Moll placed third (1:46.18), Madeline Ryan came in fourth (1:47.26), and Ceci Bruno took fifth place (1:47.41).

Boys Results

For the boys,’ Logan finished his two GS runs at a combined time of 1:34.76. He won by almost two seconds over teammate and defending champion, Travis D’Amours, whose time was 1:36.53. Jackson’s Brett Lane took third place at 1:39.00. He was followed by teammates Adi Wetzler in fourth (1:39.34) and Lucas Goewert in fifth (1:41.06).

Team Standings

The Jackson girls finished with a perfect 80 points. Natrona County took second with 31 points. Pinedale was third at 26 points. In fourth place in the team standings was Cody at 18 points. Kelly Walsh finished fifth with 15 team points, and Laramie was sixth with one point.

Jackson won its 15th consecutive girls’ alpine skiing state team title and 44th in school history.

The Jackson boys also ended with a perfect of 80 points. Kelly Walsh came in second at 29 points. Pinedale took third at 26 points. Natrona County placed fourth with 21 points. Cody finished fifth with 15 points, and Laramie did not score for sixth place.

Jackson captured its 13th straight boys’ state team crown and 43rd in school history.
