Powell's Jhett Schwahn is one of the state's finest all-around athletes and had decided to pursue football at the college level at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. Schwahn was named a 3A All-State quarterback in 2023 as the Panthers posted a record of 7-3, making the quarterfinal round of the playoffs. He threw for 2032 yards and 24 touchdowns with 9 interceptions. His season-high passing-wise was 327 yards and 7 touchdown passes vs. Douglas. Schwahn was also productive running the football with 11 TDs and 456 yards rushing.

In his junior year, he was named to the 3A All-Conference team as a quarterback and threw for over 1600 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also was the Panthers starting quarterback as a sophomore with 1177 yards passing and 7 TD passes.

Schhwahn also played a big role for the Powell Pioneers American Legion baseball team as they won the "A" State Championship in 2023. He was the Pioneers catcher and was named All-State last season and All-Conference in 2022. He also plays on the Powell boys basketball team and has been averaging 4 points a game.

Rocky Mountain is an NAIA institution that plays in the Frontier Conference. The Battlin' Bears went 6-4 in 2023.
