Kaleb Brothwell who wrestles for the Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast combo team had an interesting start to his prep career. In 2021 as a freshman, he placed 3rd in the state in the 2A 120-pound weight class and lost just a single match. That was in the semi-finals to Conner Vickrey of Kemmerer.  The following year, these two guys meet in the state championship match at 132 pounds and Brothwell prevailed 6-1 to earn that coveted spot on top of the podium. He finished his freshman year with a record of 31-1 and his sophomore year, 35-7.

As an encore, Brothwell earned state title #2 in 2A at 138 pounds with a pin over Will Spann of Lovell. He was a dominating performance and a big feather in the cap in a season where he won 44 of 46 matches.

He has a chance to make it 3 in a row next season and the future certainly looks bright for this young man. We chatted with him after his title bout and it was the thrill of victory.
