Kaycee won the 1A state championship in dramatic fashion in 2018 but found this past season to be a bit more challenging. Their longest winning streak was 5 games but finished the year losing 3 out of 4. The State Tournament proved to be a trying experience for the Bucs starting out with a first-round loss to Cokeville 60-39, Hunter Rouse had 16 points and Dion Ealy had 10 but Kaycee shot less than 30% from the floor. The Bucs did rebound in the consolation round with a 62-49 win over Lingle as Ealy and Jarrett Humble led the way with 18 with Rouse chipping in 14. Kaycee's season ended with a loss to Burlington 63-50 to wrap things up at 16-11. Rouse, Ealy and Humble combined for 46 of the teams 50 points. Next year, it will be combination of reloading and rebuilding. Rouse was a senior this past season but Ealy and will return as seniors.
