Keyton Hayden of Gillette Wins Boys All-Around at State Rodeo
Gillette's Keyton Hayden had a tremendous rodeo at the State Finals in Rock Springs as he qualified for the National High School Finals in 3 events. Hayden earned 490 points this season in the all-around and that was good enough to be the state champion in that category. He earned a state title in boys cutting, 3rd in the tie-down roping, and 4th in the team roping with his partner Austin Pixley of Sundance. Back in 2020, Hayden was the junior high all-around state champion.
At the State Finals, Hayden won the cutting, took 2nd in team roping with Pixley, and placed 5th in the tie-down roping.
The National Finals next month will be at the Camplex in Gillette so it will be a great opportunity to showcase his all-around skills. Hayden did compete in the cutting in 2022 at the Finals and he will be busy at the big show in 2023.
