Sheridan’s Landrum Wiley Commits to Black Hills State
Landrum Wiley from Sheridan has a proven track record in track and field in the distance races and will take those skills eastbound on I-90 to Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. He enjoyed a solid 2024 4A State Indoor Track and Field Meet in Gillette with a 2nd place finish in the 1600-meter run in 4.33.32 and a 2nd place finish in the 3200 with a time of 9.48.68. In his junior season, he placed 8th at the 4A State Indoor Meet in both the 1600 and the 3200.
At the 2023 4A State Outdoor Track Meet, Wiley was 6th in the 3200 in 9.48.0 and 9th in the 1600 meters with a clocking of 4.27.58. He also ran the anchor leg on Sheridan's 4x800 relay team which placed 4th. In his sophomore season in outdoor track, he took 9th in the 3200 at the State Meet.
Landrum has been proficient in cross country as well and he took 12th at the 4A State Meet in Cheyenne in a very loaded field with a time of 16.45.8. He was 10th as a junior at State in 16.43.71 and 25th as a sophomore in 17.23.13.
