Douglas wrestler Lane Ewing joined some elite company on Saturday in Casper as he won his 4th state championship and did so in convincing fashion. In the 3A 160-pound bracket, Ewing pinned all four of his opponents and won the title with a fall over Brady Roberts of Evanston who is a very good wrestler in his own right. Ewing finished the season undefeated at 46-0.

In his junior year in 2022, Ewing cruised to the 3A 160-pound championship and went 30-0. He won the 3A 145-pound championship as a sophomore with a record of 33-6 and took the 132-pound crown in 2020 with a mark of 32-6.

It takes an unbelievable amount of skill and effort to win one state championship in wrestling, much less four so Ewing deserves a ton of credit for his efforts. He will continue his athletic career at the University of Mary in North Dakota.

We caught up with him after his historic win and it was more than just another day at the office.
