The last chance indoor track meet was held over the weekend at the University of Wyoming Fieldhouse. Let's start with the ladies and in Alyssa Bedard of Rock Springs had quite a meet. She won the 55-meter dash in 7.32 with her teammate Favor Wonjoku 2nd. Bedard also won the 55-meter hurdles in 8:48 with Taylor Gardner of Laramie 2nd.  Rachel King of Laramie won the girls 200 in 27.96 with Sydney Morrill of Cheyenne Central taking the 400 in 1.03.01. Laramie's Libby Berryhill hit the tape first in the 800 with a clocking of 2.28.67. Muriel Jones who runs indoor for Green River but outdoors for Big Piney won the 1600 meters  with a time of 5.46.07

In the relays, Rock Springs won the 4 x 200 with Central winning the 4 x 400 and Laramie taking the 4 by 800. In the field events. Jordan Stoddard who competes for Southeast in the outdoor season won the high jump for Cheyenne Central clearing 5 feet 2 inches. Central’s Katie Thomson prevailed in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet 2 inches. Favour Wonjoku of Rock Springs took the triple jump, going 36-11 and a quarter. Cody’s Grace Shaffer who is the defending 4A outdoor state champion in the pole vault, won the event at UW on Saturday, clearing 11 feet 9 and a quarter inches. In the shot put, Cheyenne Central’s Kaitlyn Migneault took that event with a toss of 40 feet 2 inches. Earlier this year, she won the shot at the prestigious Simplot Games in Idaho

Over to the boy's side of things and in the 55-meter dash, the winner there was Kaden Dower of Western Heritage in 6.74. He is the defending 100-meter dash state champion in the 1A ranks. Andrew Johnson of Cheyenne Central who is a superb all-around athlete took gold in the 200 with a clocking of 23.93. Isaac Palomo of Natrona was the best of the field in the 400 going 54.37.

In the 55 hurdles, Seth Hymas clocked 8.07 to win that event

In the distance races, Mason Swingholm from Laramie who placed in all 3 distance events at the state outdoor meet a year ago took first in the 800 in 2.01.53. Natrona’s Chris Finch won the 1600 meters in 5.01.47 with Nathan Broomfield of Central taking the 3200 in 11.18.2 In the boys relays,  Laramie wins the 4 x 200 and the 4 x 800, Rock Springs the 4 by 400 and Rawlins placed first in the sprint medley.

Finally, in the field events for the guys, Seth Hymas of Rock Springs added to his total going 22 feet and a half-inch to win the long jump. Cody’s Isaac Taylor went 6-3 to win the high jump. Aden Gallon from Central took the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet 4 and a half inches.  The pole vault winner was Aiden Morris from Laramie as he cleared 14 feet 1 inch. Tanner Bullock of Central won the shot put with a toss of 50 feet, 10 and a half inches.

The state indoor track meet will start Friday and conclude on Saturday in Gillette
