Laramie was the team to beat in 4A volleyball this season but championships never come easy. The Plainsmen were challenged yet again by Thunder Basin, this time in the 4A title match. The Bolts defeated Laramie in the 4A East Regional final but the Plainsmen responded with a 5-set win in the championship match, 25-23, 25-16, 25-27, 21-25, 15-11.

Laramie was led by Maddy Stucky who had earned multi all-state honors in her career plus the Plainsmen had some serious power and height. 6-3 sophomore Tessa Dodd and 6-2 junior Michon Sailors provided a 1-2 hitting punch that few teams could match.

This was the Plainsmen's 3rd state championship in the last four years and went 33-1 this season. We talked with Maddy Stucky and Tessa Dodd after the match and there's nothing like that championship feeling.
