The Laramie Lady Plainsmen showed why they are thought of as one of the top teams in 4A this season with wins over both Gillette schools last Saturday.

Laramie defeated Thunder Basin in four sets and Campbell County in three sets. They accomplished the two wins without returning all-state player Halley Feezer, who is sidelined with an injury.

The Lady Plainsmen prevailed over the Bolts by scores of 25-16, 16-25, 25-22, and 25-15. Junior Alexis Stucky, a two-time all-state performer, led the way with 20 kills and 20 digs.

Later in the day, on “Senior Night,” Laramie swept the Camels, 25-20, 25-15, 25-12. With 20 kills and 10 digs, Stucky again paced the Lady Plainsmen in their victory.

Both Gillette schools finished their long road trip south at 1-1, as both Thunder Basin and Campbell County beat Cheyenne South last Saturday.
