Wheatland's Lily Nichols is a sensational all-around athlete and will be taking her track and field skills to Laramie to compete for the University of Wyoming. She will be competing in the heptathlon and the 400-meter hurdles at the next level.

In her junior year at the State Track Meet, she won the 3A championship in the long jump at 17-0, placed 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2.18.07, 3rd in the 400 in 58.75 and took 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a clocking of 46 flat. Now that was an eventful weekend!

In her sophomore season at State Track, Nichols won 2 events in 3A, the 400 meters in 59.05 and the 800 in 2.19.29. She placed 3rd in the long jump going 16-5.5 and took 7th in the 1600.

Besides that, Nichols is a superb golfer who carded rounds of 79 and 83 to place 3rd at the 3A State Tournament back in the fall and she took 3rd at State in 2022 with rounds of 86 and 89. In basketball, Nichols averaged 12.5 points per game in her junior year and 9 points a game in her sophomore year. Overall in her prep career, she earned all-state status in 4 different sports. By the way, she has a GPA of 4.0
