Lyman Beats Rival Mountain View for 3A Volleyball Title
Lyman and Mountain View are neighbors in Uinta County and both schools have outstanding athletic programs. The Eagles and Buffaloes were ranked in the top 3 in 3A volleyball for practically the whole season. Up until the championship match, Mountain View beat Lyman 4 times out of 5 including a 3-0 win in the 3A West regional final.
Lyman was tested in the semi-final round by rallying from 2 sets to none down to beat Pinedale and used that momentum to push Mountain View to the limit and into a 5th and set. The Eagles prevailed 25-18, 22-25, 29-27, 19-25, and 15-7 to win their 5th state title in school history and their first since 2018. Both teams won 33 matches this season and Mountain View was the defending 3A state champions.
The match was filled with ebbs and flows and it was a thrilling end to the 3A season. We have a video of that match to share with you along with some pics from RegaloPhoto. Enjoy!
