Lyman athlete Chevy Fackrell has decided on attending Colorado Mesa University of Grand Junction for football. Fackrell helped Lyman win back-to-back 2A state titles and in 2021, he rushed for 871 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was also a stalwart on defense with 51 tackles in his senior year, 27 of them solo. The Eagles needless to say had a tremendous defensive unit in 2021.

In his junior year, Fackrell rang up 40 tackles with 31 solo. He ran the ball for 196 yards and a touchdown.

Fackrell was a four-time qualifier for the state wrestling tournament and won the 3A state championship at 170 pounds with a 3-1 win over Josh Rose of Worland. He finished the season with a record of 40-5. In his junior year, He was 29-7 and went 1-2 in the state tourney at 152 pounds and wrestled at 152 in his sophomore year with a record of 27-17, going 2-2 at the state meet. Fackrell made it to Casper in his freshman year going 0-2 in the 145-pound bracket.

Colorado Mesa is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Mavericks were 8-2 in football in the 2021 season.
