The Lyman Eagles are ranked 3rd in 3A in our latest WyoPreps poll and started the week with a record of 26-4. The Eagles earlier this week knocked off #5 Pinedale and the southwest part of the state is loaded with good volleyball teams.

Lyman has a two-time all-state player in Brice Hansen with 2 returning all-conference players in Kendyll Dickerson and Sage Bradshaw. Dickerson is a big-time hitter so she is going to get a lot of touches in any given match.

A year ago, Lyman did not qualify for the state tournament as they were eliminated by eventual 3A state champion Mountain View in that 3A quadrant regional. The Eagles had enough talent to qualify for state last year and they have more than enough talent to qualify for state this year. 3A is very, very competitive and we had a chance to talk with Brice Hansen and Kendyll Dickerson at the 3A West Duals in Lovell last week.

How Many Medals Have Wyoming-Born Athletes Won at the Olympics?

Wyoming isn't represented on Team USA for the 2020 (in 2021) Olympics in Tokyo. But, athletes born in Wyoming have competed for the gold a handful of times over the last century.

According to the folks at BeenVerified.com, seven Wyoming-born Olympians have competed on the world's largest stage.

Since the 1932 LA games, these competitors earned four Olympic medals; one gold, two silver, and a bronze. Wrestling, Track and Field, and Rowing are the evens where Wyoming-natives have shined.
