More Early-Season Shuffling in the WyoPreps Volleyball Rankings
A new No. 1 and four new teams in the rankings highlighted the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Volleyball Poll.
The change at the top was in Class 3A, while the bottom three divisions have at least one new team.
Fresh off their win at the Rawlins Invitational, the Mountain View Buffalos took the top spot in 3A. They received seven of the ten first-place votes. Lyman fell to second but still earned three first-place votes. Pinedale held third, but the Wranglers are tied with Douglas. The Bearcats were runner-up at the Rawlins tournament. Buffalo took third in Rawlins, and they jumped into the rankings at No. 5.

Eight different teams got at least one first-place vote in Class 1A. The uncertainty among voters meant that despite only one first-place vote, the Kaycee Buckaroos stayed in the top spot. It was the second and third-place votes that kept Kaycee No. 1. Southeast got four first-place votes and stayed in second. Little Snake River moved up one spot to third. Both the Cyclones and Rattlers earned votes in all five spots of the poll. The Riverside Rebels also picked up four first-place votes and debuted in the rankings in 2022 at No. 4. Saratoga stayed in the poll but dropped to fifth.
Class 2A was the other division with a new team. Sundance re-entered the rankings in fifth. The top four are the same as last week. Big Horn received nine of the ten first-place votes. The Rams won their Big Horn Invitational last weekend. Tongue River, Burns, and Kemmerer held in second, third, and fourth, respectively.
Kelly Walsh is a unanimous choice for No. 1 in Class 4A. The Trojans got all 14 first-place votes from the voters. They are off to a 12-0 start this season. Thunder Basin stayed second, but there was a new team in third. That was the Cody Fillies, who jumped the Fillies of Natrona County, who fell to fourth. Laramie remained in fifth.
