Natrona 2-0 in 4A Football With Road Win Over Rock Springs
In the lone 4A football battle featuring teams that won their season openers, Casper-Natrona made the trip to Sweetwater County on Friday to take on the Rock Springs Tigers. NC started the season with a 17-7 win over Thunder Basin while Rock Springs defeated Cheyenne Central 23-16.
In Friday's contest, The Mustangs found the end zone twice in the first quarter in quick succession with 5-yard runs from Tyler Palermo and Gus Bertagnole. They added a 2nd quarter TD on a long-scoring pass that went for 73 yards from Kanei Olsen to Aiden Youmans. Natrona's defense did the rest and held the Tigers to a field goal in that 28-3 win.
Rock Springs had some momentum offensively in the 2nd half but turnovers and penalties really hurt them in this contest. The Tigers have an interesting game this week as they travel to Gillette to take on Campbell County.
Speaking of interesting games, Natrona plays host to defending 4A State Champion Sheridan on Friday in a battle of a pair of 2-0 teams.
