Buffalo’s Carly Norman Heads to Laramie for Track
Buffalo senior Carly Norman will further her track and field career after signing with the University of Wyoming. A three-time all-state performer, Norman has enjoyed plenty of success with the Bison program. She is a three-time runner-up in the Class 3A 100-meter hurdles.
At the 2023 state track meet, Carly finished second at 14.95 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. Norman was also fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (46.74) and eighth in the long jump (16-01.75). She placed top three in all three of those events at the 3A East Regional track meet.
In Indoor Track, Norman was the Class 3A runner-up in the 55-meter hurdles at 8.72 seconds and placed fifth in the long jump (16-00.50).
In 2022, Norman ran 15.50 seconds for the No. 2 spot in the 100-meter hurdles at the outdoor state track championships. She placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and was on the second-place 4x100-meter relay squad for Buffalo High School.
As a freshman, Norman recorded a time of 16.48 seconds for the runner-up spot in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2021 state track meet. Carly was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles and ran a leg on the third-place 4x100-meter relay. She helped the Bison take second place in the team standings. At the indoor track state championships, Norman was second in the 55-meter hurdles by .01 seconds at 8.69 seconds.
She still has her senior seasons of indoor and outdoor track to compete in. Norman is coached in high school by Ryan Mader at Buffalo High School.
