Sheridan's Patrick Aasby will be headed to Grand Junction to continue his track career at Colorado Mesa University. Aasby ran on Sheridan's 1600 sprint medley relay team that won the 4A State Championship back in May and set a 4A state record in the process with a time of 3.32.09. Aasby certainly had a productive 4A state meet as his 4x400 relay team took 3rd and the 4x800 relay team was 4th. Individually, Aasby placed 4th in the 400 meters.

On the indoor track circuit in 2023, Aasby was part of 4A state championship teams in the sprint medley and the 4x400 with a 2nd place finish in the 4x800. In the 2022 outdoor season, the Bronc spring medley team won the 4A state championship and they were 2nd in the 3x400 and 3rd in the 4x800.

Colorado Mesa is a Division II institution that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
