Two long-time rivals squared off on the gridiron on Friday night as Tongue River played host to Big Horn in the annual Thunder Bowl. Both teams will be in the 2A playoffs and rivalry games have added emotion and intensity.

Tongue River got on the board first as quarterback Carter Maslowski ran right up the middle for a touchdown to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead. Later in the first half, Big Horn evened the match on a quick 52-yard run from Cruz Hernandez to make it 7-7.

This was a tightly contested game, to say the least, and the only touchdown of the 2nd half came on an interception return for a touchdown by Koly Butler to give the Rams a 14-7 lead. Tongue River drove down the field in the field in the final minute only to have Butler record another pick to preserve the Big Horn victory by that 14-7 score.

The Rams will be the #1 seed from the East in the 2A playoffs and sport a record of 6-1. They will finish the regular season with a home game against Burns. Tongue River is 5-2 and the Eagles will be at Wheatland on Friday. The winner will be the #3 seed from the East and the loser will be the #4 seed.
