PhotoFest: Burlington Moves to 7-1 Beating Dubois
A year ago, Burlington played in the 1A 6-Man football state championship game, eventually losing to Little Snake River in Laramie. This year's team is using last year's runner-up finish for motivation and the Huskies have won 7 of 8 this year with their only loss to Custer, Montana in Week 1. Burlington flexed their muscles to finish the regular season with a 67-46 road win over Dubois which will give them the #1 seed from the North in the upcoming playoffs.
Burlington quarterback Jordan Michaels has been enjoying an excellent season with 1047 yards rushing, averaging 174 yards on the ground per game. He also has thrown 12 touchdown passes with just 1 interception. The Huskies have been formidable on defense, allowing just 19 touchdowns which isn't bad in the wide-open 6-Man game.
Dubois has made the 6-Man semi-finals for the last two years running and sits at 5-3 overall. Running back Wyatt Trembly had another tremendous game as he rushed for 189 yards and 3 touchdowns vs. Burlington. The Rams will be the #3 seed from the South and draws Kaycee on the road in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday.
