Campbell County has made great strides in 4A football and the Camels have won 4 out of 5 as they drilled Kelly Walsh in Casper on Friday 56-16.

It didn't take long for Campbell County to get on the board as Trent Rosenau got into the end zone from the 5 to take a 7-0 lead. Kelly Walsh was employing some old Daffy Duck formations on offense and it worked for a while. Landon Walker threw a 6-yard scoring lob to Ethan Hague and with the successful two-point try, the Trojans led 8-7.

The Camels asserted themselves later in the first half as quarterback Mason Drube found Aidan Dorr for a TD that covered 13 yards to make it 14-8. Drube is a dynamic player and threw his 2nd touchdown pass of the half to Adam Gibson, who went for 55 yards to bump the lead to 21-8. The Camels assumed a 20-point lead at the halftime break as Rosenau scored again, this time from a dozen yards out.

In the 3rd quarter, Rosenau scored for the 3rd time on the ground and Drube hooked up with Dorr for 8 yards and a touchdown, and just like that it was 42-18. KW's Kadon Bryce found the end zone in the 3rd stanza but Campbell County kept scoring as Rosenau earned his 4th rushing touchdown of the night and Drube added a TD on the ground.

Campbell County has a huge game this week taking on Thunder Basin in the battle of Gillette. Kelly Walsh is 1-4 on the year and they have a huge home game with Laramie on Friday. That contest will have major playoff implications.

We have some stellar images of that game on Friday in Casper from Libby Ngo and they can be located in our gallery below. Enjoy!
