PhotoFest: Sheridan Finishes Regular Season Unbeaten in 4A Football
Sheridan has been the standard bearer in 4A football for the entire 2023 season and the 2022 season as well, winning a state championship. The Broncs ran the table in 4A play during the regular season at 9-0 with just two close games. Sheridan took it to Campell County on Friday 56-14 so they will be seeded first in the 4A playoffs.
It was an eventful 1st quarter in Gillette on Friday with Sheridan opening the scoring with a touchdown pass from Dom Berrettini to Cody Dunham that covered 19 yards to give the Broncs a 7-0 lead. The Camels answered with a 1-yard TD pass from Mason Drube to Garrett Herther to even things up at 7 all. After that, Berrettini took the game over with a 3-yard run for a touchdown to make it 14-7. He followed that up with an interception return for a touchdown and then threw a 44-yard scoring pass to Dunham. Sheridan had control of the game in the 2nd quarter and never looked back.
Campbell County did get a TD in quarter #2 as Drube spotted Adam Gibson for 24 yards and a score but that was their last trip to the end zone for the game. The Camels will be the #4 seed in the 4A playoffs and host cross-town rival Thunder Basin in the quarterfinal round. Sheridan will host Kelly Walsh on Friday to begin their post-season journey.
We have some great photos to pass along from the old-fashioned Energy Bowl, compliments of Kellie Jo Allison. They can be found in our gallery below. Enjoy!
