Tongue River is now 5-1 in 2A football with a 41-6 home win over Burns on Friday afternoon as they quickly put their loss to Torrington the week before in the rear-view mirror.

Burns had a first-quarter kickoff return for a touchdown but that was the last time they would see the end zone for the rest of the day. The Broncs at this point led 6-0 but Tongue answered with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Carter Maslowski to Conner Cummins to even the game at 6.

Cummins later scored on an 11-yard run to give the Eagles a 13-6 lead and they never looked back. Maslowski also had a TD run that covered 10 yards giving Tongue River a 20-6 lead heading into the halftime break. The Eagles kept the pressure on in the 3rd quarter as Jack Melger scored on a 4-yard run which was followed by a 32-yard TD connection from Maslowski to Cummins. Aiden Watt added a 21-yard touchdown catch to put the finishing touches on this victory.

Tongue River will play host to their rival Big Horn on Friday which should be a very, very good game. Burns is 1-6 on the season and the Broncs will be at home this week to take on Wheatland.
