The Riverton Wolverines have their new head football coach. They’ve promoted from within, as Troy Anderson has been hired.

Anderson has coached in Riverton for the past four years according to a release from Riverton High School. He was the offensive and defensive line coach for the past two seasons.

He is a Fremont County native and takes over for Patrick Patterson, who stepped down after seven seasons with the Wolverines.

Anderson’s hiring is pending approval by the Fremont County School District No. 25 School Board.

WyoPreps has reached out for comment. Coach Anderson is presently serving overseas with the Wyoming National Guard.

In the release, the new coach is expected to work from overseas with his coaching staff to start implementing his off-season program. Coach Anderson will be returning home in June.

Riverton was 4-6 in 2019. They lost to Jackson in the Class 3A quarterfinals.
