In a battle between 2 of the better teams in 4A, Rock Springs traveled to Cheyenne East on Friday and came away with a 31-15 win to improve to 8-1 on the year. Rock Springs scored first in the opening quarter thanks to a 1-yard plunge from Dylan Coburn with East responding with a 12 yard run from Cam Hayes to even the game at 7.

The Tigers put another touchdown on the board in quarter #2 as quarterback Brock Bider found the end zone from 21 yards out so Rock Springs had a 14-7 advantage at the intermission.

The 3rd quarter was very productive for Rock Springs as Cadon Shaklee had a 3 yard run for a score which was followed by Coburn's 2nd TD of the game that covered half a dozen yards. so after 3, the Tigers led 28-7. East scored one time in the 4th quarter as Cam Hayes threw a 9-yard scoring strike to Garet Schlabs but it wasn't enough. East is 7-2 on the year and will draw Campbell County in the first round of the 4A playoffs on Friday night at Okie Blanchard Stadium.

Rock Springs earned a home playoff game and will take on Casper-Kelly Walsh on Friday. Be sure and check out our fantastic pics from the East-Rock Springs game in our gallery, thanks to Jasey McBrurnett. Enjoy!
