Saratoga has made back to back appearances at the state tournament after a long, long absence from the big show. A year ago, the Panthers placed 4th in 1A and this year it was a very respectable 2nd place finish with powerful Cokeville winning the state title. The Panthers had a very entertaining first-round match with Hanna-Elk Mountain and prevailed in that one 25-20, 25-16 23-25 and 25-23. The Panthers then dispatched Upton 3-0 before losing to Cokeville 3-0 in the 1A title match. Saratoga had not one, but 2 repeat all-state selections in Taylor Bennet and Aubrey Berger. Tasia Daley and Lexi Herring earned all-conference distinction so there was some serious talent on this team. Bennet and Berger were seniors this season. Daley and Herring will be seniors next season so this will be a team to keep an eye on for 2020.
