A new top-ranked team in Class 4A highlights the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll.

Class 2A saw some shuffling, and there was a minor change in Class 1A 9-man.

Two-time defending champion Sheridan is back at the top of 4A. The Broncs’ road win at Cheyenne East gave them the top spot with all but one first-place vote. The Thunderbird dropped to second. Campbell County rose one spot to third. That pushed Natrona County down to fourth. Those two will square off on Friday night in Casper. Thunder Basin held onto fifth.

Mountain View was the only unanimous choice for No. 1 in the poll. The Buffalos hauled in all 24 first-place votes. The next three teams each moved up one spot. Big Horn went to second. Lovell climbed to third, and despite the loss last week to Mountain View, Cokeville rose to fourth. Tongue River dropped to fifth after their first loss of the season last week.

Class 1A 9-man was nearly the same as a week ago. Pine Bluffs stayed in the top position with 14 of the 21 first-place votes. Wind River remained second and earned six first-place votes. The one difference was a tie for third between Big Piney and Lingle-Ft. Laramie. The Doggers got the one other first-place vote. Southeast kept the No. 5 spot.

There were no changes in 3A or Class 1A 6-man.

Cody was at the top of 3A with 18 of the 24 first-place votes. The other six went to Star Valley, who stayed at No. 2. Powell was a unanimous pick for third, and Buffalo was the only team chosen for fourth. Douglas held onto the fifth spot.

Little Snake River remained No. 1 in the 6-man division. The Rattlers got all but one first-place vote. Encampment was second, followed by Burlington, Dubois, and Kaycee.
